Hi all,

I'll quickly point out before I go any further that I'm in no way using this topic to bitch about not having a premium membership. I've been premium for 2 years up until May last year. It was fun while it lasted and while I do have the money for another years membership, I don't use the Zone enough anymore to warrant such things.

Anyway, the main point of this topic was to ask about premium membership plans. The only 2 features I'd really actively use would be quicknote history and invisibility. So, I was wondering if there would be a way to pay less for say, 1 months worth of membership, 3 months, 6 months and then the current 12 month term? I know some of the recent Zone competition prizes have been short length premiums. I know the whole purpose of premium memberships is to rake in the money needed to keep this thing on it's feet and there's PayPal fees to deal with, but what do people think?

$25 really isn't much to ask for. Just sayin. Now having said that, it might actually be good business for the Zone. They could charge something like $2.50 for a month, $5 for 2 months, $10 for 4 months, $15 for 6 months, and then the $25 for the year would obviously be the best deal. so it would basically be a good way of getting a bit more money for the site, while providing a good inscentive to just pay for the year, and yet the people who, for whatever reason, can't or don't want to shell out the $25 still have other options.

i agree with jess on this. i actually quite like this idea- and it's not often you see a suggestion on the boards where i'm in favour of it. so congrats.

That'll work, only if it includes some sort of initiation rite where prospective nickel-and-dimers must serve the admins or otherwise publicly self-efface.

seems reasonable, but to be honest once my premium membership exspires I doubt I'll be renewing it. I think my $25 can be put to better use elsewhere, but that is just me.

agreed, the different plans would be a good thing probably or certain features, like just bying as rob said, the qn history and invisibility, or the anagram games, and username change, or the premium channels and the ability to create conferences and different packages.
